Anyone who knows me, knows I love to read. I was an early reader and I've never stopped. I'm not into real in-depth reading, although I have been at times in the past. I like to read for entertainment and pleasure. I like children's books, mysteries, and historical novels. I will read both fiction and non-fiction. I don't like books that are too scary or intense, because I like to read before bed and I don't want to be reading something that will give me nightmares.
Over the years I have loved many series of books. I started with the Honeybunch and Norman series by Helen Louise Thorndike, The Bobbsey Twins, The Happy Hollisters, Nancy Drew, Little House on the Prairie, Little Women, Redwall, The Three Investigators, Enid Blyton, and moved on to Madeleine L'Engle, Harry Potter, Twilight, and Anne of Green Gables.
As an adult I discovered the Mitford Series, and now, Mary Jane Hathaway, and The Burracombe novels by Lilian Harry. There are many other similar British novels by Anne Baker and Diney Costeloe. My goodness, such good reading, and such innocence. I love them.
